Don R. Duncan Former VP of Federal and International Government Affairs, ConocoPhillips

Don Duncan retired in May, 2008 from ConocoPhillips after 33 years of service. At the time of his retirement, Don served as Vice President for Federal and International Government Affairs.

Duncan joined Phillips Petroleum Company in 1975, serving several years in corporate headquarters. During his career, Duncan served in a number of positions with responsibilities in the areas of federal tax matters, exploration and production operations and refining and transportation. He assumed management of Washington and International related responsibilities in 1993.

Prior to joining the petroleum industry, Duncan spent three years on Capitol Hill where he worked as a Legislative Assistant and Chief of Staff for two Oklahoma Congressmen.

Duncan has been active during his career in numerous professional associations including Chairman of the Natural Gas Roundtable, Chairman of the API General Committee on Federal Relations, President of the Oklahoma State Society and on the Board of the National Energy Resources Organization. He has also been active in several local and civic groups.

Since retirement, he helped found and served as Chairman of the Green River Biodiesel Corporation, located in Alabama and he sits on the Advisory Board of The Hill Magazine, who named him one of the fifteen most influential corporate lobbyists in 2006 and 2007. Don is also a member of the National Biodiesel Board.

An Oklahoma native, Duncan was born November 20, 1948, in Pryor and attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with degrees in political science in 1971. He is widowed with four children and currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia.
