John Savage Managing Director

John Savage is a co-founder of Verdeo Group and leads the company's initiatives in the oil and gas sector. In addition to originating project opportunities, John has forged several strategic partnerships with technology firms in the oil & gas sector and is a frequent speaker at industry events including the EPA Natural Gas STAR conference.

John has over 10 years experience in the renewable energy and carbon finance markets. He has served as an advisor to a variety of organizations, including start-up ventures and Fortune 500 companies, seeking to develop and execute carbon-driven business strategies. Most recently he advised Climate Change Capital on a strategy for expanding its business into the US and led the execution of a number of CDM and voluntary market transactions, including projects involving forestry, industrial gases, fugitive methane emissions, energy efficiency, and programmatic CDM. As an executive with Green Mountain Energy, John led marketing and business development for the nation's leading retail supplier of renewable energy. During his tenure at Green Mountain, John worked in virtually every regional power market in the US, helped develop wind and solar projects in several states, and led the expansion and growth of three of EPA's Top 5 nationally-rated utility green power programs. John has a BA in History, cum laude, from Dartmouth College and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
