Josh Green Chief Executive Officer
Josh Green is a co-founder of Verdeo Group, and as CEO has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and performance of the company. In addition to leading fundraising and project investment activity, he oversees the firm's corporate development efforts, including developing strategic partnerships, assessing new growth areas, and pursuing M&A opportunities. Josh has over 12 years of experience in the energy industry, focusing on investment in renewable energy and carbon projects since 2003. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and participates in various working groups regarding the future direction of US climate policy.
Prior to launching Verdeo, Josh was a Vice President and the Director of Latin America at Climate Change Capital, responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of carbon investments for the firm's $1 billion carbon fund. His career spans private equity and strategy consulting, most of it focused on the energy industry. Josh served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, a $150 million clean energy fund, where he oversaw strategy, operations and investment activity. Before that, he was Vice President of Latin America for Softbank Emerging Markets, a $250 million venture capital fund investing in technology businesses in developing countries. Earlier in his career, Josh worked with some of the leading utilities in South America as a Consultant with Monitor Group, a global strategy consultancy. Josh holds a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Geography, Economics and Environmental Studies, cum laude, from Dartmouth College. He is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, serves on the Washington, DC regional board of Teach for America, and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
