Santosh Lakhan Director

Prior to joining the Verdeo team, Santosh was a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group and with McKinsey & Company. Santosh primarily served energy clients and, for a number of these clients, assessed and developed climate change risk mitigation strategies.

Santosh is a Mechanical Engineer and started his career in the South African mining and power generation sectors. He was responsible for the coal and ash plant operations at a 3600MW coal fired power station operated by ESKOM, South Africa’s leading power utility. Santosh then joined the Mining Technology division of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research as a Design and Development Engineer. During this period he researched, developed and implemented new technologies in South Africa’s gold, platinum and coal mines. In this role Santosh worked closely with mine leadership and engineers, both on the surface and underground, on the on-site testing and final commercialization of mechanized mining equipment. Santosh holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal and a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
